This introductory course focuses on the traditions of drawing.
Space, form, value, proportion and composition
are emphasized for the development of the beginning
ability to receive and record forms
on a two-dimensional surface.
As of Fall 2018 & Spring 2019,
I am master of course content development for the new course:
ARTD 1120 Art Appreciation and as well as teaching face-to-face and coding the "responsive" master course
ARTD 1142 Drawing I: Foundations of Drawing for both of which will be copied semester to semster.
Below is a "responsive" mobile course cover design example and a modified detail of the 1509-1511 fresco

at the Vatican in Florence Italy during the High Rennaissance.
This image represents my mission and inspirations.
This introductory course is a study of art of the Western world.
It explores the emergence of new forms and
salient factors contributing to changes in art
from prehistoric Europe to the contemporary West.
The works of art are presented within their historical contexts.
PIERPONT COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE │ Fall 2016 AS MEMBER AND SECRETARY OF THE INDUSTRIAL ADVISORY BOARD, we proposed and worked towards getting approval to add ART to the design curriculum.
FAIRMONT STATE UNIVERSITY │
I produced and directed Fairmont State University's Senior Graphics Engineering Technology Exhibits, promotions and videos at
Gallery 62 West.
The video (and exhibits) below are Part III (and finale), II, and I of the multi-disciplinary,
interactive exhibit series combining the past, present and future
using art, science and technology to explore light and color.
See whimsical installations created with an assortment of
methods and materials, old and new inspired by
"the cosmos, time, motion, light, color, and innovative minds
throughout history."
Although our graphics programs have a beautiful state-of-the-art,
"all glass" gallery next to our FSU/PP classrooms,
with the help of the Deans of Science and Technology, and the
Five-Year Strategic Plan Objective 5. “to forge strong alliances with schools, state agencies, businesses, industry and other community groups in our service region” ,
we developed the premier university-community relationship with TCAC,
the Taylor County Arts Council at Gallery 62 West
to exhibit Jr.- Sr. portfoloios and to promote education and community connections.
This included student financial assistance,
supplies, and states-wide marketing and promotion.

GALLERY 62 WEST VIDEO: ART 1: The video opens with a small illustrated detail of the upper facade of Gallery 62 West. Housed in the former Brinkman Opera House, the three-story Italianate style historic landmark, built c.1900, on 62 West Main Street in Grafton West Virginia, once seated 800 people.
GALLERY 62 WEST VIDEO: ART 2: The following traditional letter-mark and word-mark logo for Gallery 62 West was designed to mirror the Italianate architectural features of the historical landmark and follow appropriate guidelines set up by the Historical Landmarks Commission in 1998 to represent the significance of Grafton's place in West Virginia's history.
GALLERY 62 WEST VIDEO: ART 3: A fresco detail of The Creation of Adam, 1508-12, on the Sistine Chapel ceiling in Rome by Michelangelo. Painted during the Renaissance ( “Rebirth” in French), it is iconic for the significant period in history that bridged the gap between the Middles Ages and modern history when “intellectual thinking” became manifest in art,
architecture, politics, science and literature.
The painting detail was a strategic cover and
video backdrop for the TCAC logo,
symbolizing the "power of art" to "create" a “breath of life”
which was a premier vision for establishing an
art community in Taylor County along with
the scientifically proven health and economic benefits to go with it.
GALLERY 62 WEST VIDEO: ART 4: A transparent version of the original, traditional black and white square TCAC logo design for the Taylor County Arts Council. The longevity of a traditional serif typeface was used to compliment the architectural features of the historical region and arts history in the mountain state. The word "ARTS" is the most dominant, immediately recognizable concept and readable word at all sizes, close or far.
I developed and instructed two job training courses

HISTORIC BRINKMAN BUILDING │
I modified the original black and white photo
(by unknown photographer atm) to compare
historical styles of the original
"BRINKMAN & CO." sign that the traditional
Gallery 62 West "letter and word mark"
logos were modeled after.
The former Brinkman Opera House, once seating over 800 people,
is a three-story Italianate style landmark, built c. 1889,
on 62 West Main Street in Grafton, West Virginia.
The logos were designed to mirror the
Italianate architectural features of the
historical landmark and follow appropriate guidelines set up by
the Historical Landmarks Commission in 1998. The intent was to
represent the significance of Grafton's place in West Virginia's history.
See the history of the 1996 Taylor County Arts Council above.
Modifications added: color over-lay, type, and bokeh effects.
I developed multimedia work for a
West Virginia SBIR II - Small Business Innovation Research Grant at the
High Technology Consortium. I
Story-boarded learning scenarios and
created Flash graphics for
five continuing education courses
available on the Internet to
over 21,000 WV K-12 teachers.
I developed the site from scratch using straight html code (no pre-designed template).
The development began in an education class called "Instructional Technology" as a
tool for future students to see assignments and grades and
to promote art and art education in my community and beyond. | 2002 to Present

of the Taylor County Arts Council in Grafton WV. │
(MCMXCVI) (herein referred to as TCAC).
With the help of the Tygart Valley Development Authority,
Community Action, and the Center for Rural Enterprises,,
Bruce Miller, Bill Spears and Sally Cooper,
I surveyed Taylor County on foot to inquire about
interests in forming an arts council.
The enthusiasm inspired me to write
to the local and state senators and put invitations
in the local paper to START VUE VIDEO PLAYLIST ► meeting monthly at the
Tygart Lake State Park Lodge. They were a success.
I met the inspiring new arrivals, Thea and Blaine Porter
who accelerated the momentum.
We began fulfilling a public need for
creative expression by developing the Premier 1997
Memorial Day Juried Fine Arts Exhibit at the
court house in Grafton, West Virginia.
For several years TCAC operated under the "umbrella"
organization Tygart Valley Development Authority.
A few years later, the non-profit organization was incorporated.
In 2005, following years of growth in membership,
dedication and perseverance, TCAC purchased (for a ridiculously nominal fee)
"Gallery 62 West" from another inspiring couple,
Lorna Vincent and Sarel Venter.
Plans for restoration continued and the roof was repaired
and the facade was painted by the City of Grafton.
Today, the gallery continues to be solely supported by volunteers,
donations, grants, fundraising and dues.
